Imperium ◆ Custom Covers ◆ The Builder
Design your cover.
Shape, dimensions, core, and finish, watch your cover take form as you go. When you’re done, our specialists confirm every measurement in writing before anything is cut. No configurator guesswork, ever.
Choosing a shape
Pick the outline that matches your spa’s shell when you look straight down at it. Close counts. We build to your exact measurements, not to a template. Truly unusual shell? Send it through the contact page and we’ll quote it by hand.
Measuring
Measure the top of the shell, outside edge to outside edge, at the widest points. Height A runs one way, width B the other, and B is the side the cover folds across. Get within an inch; we confirm every number with you in writing before anything is cut.
The insulating core
The numbers are the foam’s thickness in inches: thick at the fold, tapering toward the edges so snow and rain run off. A thicker core holds more heat and carries more snow. 5″-3″ is our most-chosen core and the Canadian-winter standard; go thicker for exposed, northern, or wind-scoured sites.
Fold construction
Covers fold across their width so they can be lifted and shipped. Past 102″ a cover is built in three or more sections, with more sewing, more hardware and a thicker minimum core, which is why very wide covers cost more. The builder works all of this out automatically.
The skirt
The fabric apron hanging below the cover’s edge, hiding the spa’s lip and blocking wind. Measure from the underside of the cover to where you want it to end. Most spas take 2-5″. Enter 0 for no skirt.
Vinyl vs. DuraTex
Both are outdoor-grade. Marine vinyl or DuraTex is the classic smooth finish, included as standard. DuraTex is a 1000-denier woven polyester, a tougher, textured armour for decks with dogs, ice scrapers, and hard winters.
6 mil vapor barrier
A heat-sealed film around the foam core that keeps steam and chemicals from soaking in and making the cover heavy. Ours is the thick 6 mil grade, included on every cover.
Full pillow
The underside padding that rests on the spa’s rim. A full pillow runs edge to edge for a better seal and less heat loss. It is included on every Imperium cover, never an upsell.
Lifter protector
A reinforced strip where a cover-lifter bar touches the fabric, so the mechanism never wears a line into your cover. Add it if you have (or plan) a lifter arm.
Inside pull handles
Extra handles on the underside of the fold, making the cover easier to pull across from the far side of the spa, handy for wide spas or shorter reach.
Split skirt
Slits cut into the skirt at the corners so it drapes cleanly around steps, lifter hardware, or a cabinet that sticks out past the shell.
Lifter plates
Rigid plates sewn into the cover where a lifter clamps on, spreading the load so the foam never crushes at the mounting points.
4 lift handles
Every cover comes with two reinforced lift handles. Switch this on for four, which gives you more places to grab and a more balanced lift on larger or heavier covers. On covers wider than 98″ the handles are set by how the cover folds, so this option doesn’t appear for them.
The price
The price shown covers every feature above, the 3-year flat warranty, and delivery across Canada, with no upsells at checkout, nothing extra to unlock. Applicable taxes are added at invoicing. A specialist confirms the final figure and every measurement in writing before anything is cut.
