How It's Built

What goes into an Imperium cover.

Every Imperium cover, custom or ready-to-ship, is built to the same specification in Ontario. Here is exactly what that means, so you can judge the value before you buy.

Anatomy of an Imperium Cover

Every cover includes

Sealed vapor barrier

Heat-sealed vapor barrier

High-density EPS foam wrapped in a heavy-duty vapour barrier, locking out moisture and the “waterlogged cover” failure entirely.

Marine-grade vinyl or DuraTex and DuraTex fabric

30 oz marine-grade vinyl or DuraTex

A UV- and mildew-resistant exterior built to take sun, snow, and ice without cracking or fading, with double-stitched, reinforced seams. Choose classic marine-grade vinyl or our 1000D DuraTex fabric.

Locking safety straps

Four locking safety straps

Full locking hardware to secure the cover, support safety, and shrug off wind lift. Standard, not an upgrade.

Reinforced lift handles

Reinforced lift handles

Integrated handles on both sides plus a full-perimeter skirt that seals the shell edge and shields the acrylic lip from UV.

The Honest Spec Sheet

What to look for in a hot tub cover

The difference is in the parts you can’t see in a photo. Here is each spec and why it matters, so you can judge the value yourself.

The Math A cover that lasts 5 to 7 years works out to around $120 a year. Spend a little more up front and the cost per winter drops, and a dry, well-insulated core keeps working on your heating bill the whole time.
